Has unwittingly occurred repetition and elongation of sounds, phrases, words, syllables, pause or unconscious barriers that resulted in the failure of voice production. Stuttering usually starts in childhood and is often referred to as a childhood stutter. Parents often feel worried as there is little knowledge about stuttering and difficulty of where to seek help for their children who suffer from stuttering.

There are several types of stuttering, but family and friends sometimes do not realize that someone they know has a stutter. it is because he is able to hide his gasped stuttering by avoiding words that are difficult to pronounce.

The types of stuttering according to phase.

  • Development of Stuttering – Occurs in children aged 2-4 years. Stutter is quite reasonable because it is a process of speech development. This stutter will recover by itself with the increase age of children
  • Temporary Stuttering – At the age 5-8 years old can experience this stuttering, occur due to psychological factors of the environment such as panic, anxiety, fear and others. Temporary stutter will disappear even without specific therapy.
  • Fixed Stuttering – Stuttering is usually from age 8 to adulthood, even into old age. If not been treated completely, this stuttering no doubt will last until adults / elderly. Stuttering is caused by psychological factors such as stress, feel inferior, excessive anxiety, lack of confidence and others.

Stuttering can also happen when someone in a state of : tired, under pressure, stress, meet new people, uncomfortable situation, introduce themselves before the public
